The occult blood test in urine is a diagnostic procedure used to detect the presence of blood in the urine that is not visible to the naked eye. One of the methods used for this test is the Orthotoluidine method. In this blog post, we will discuss how to perform the occult blood test in urine using the Orthotoluidine method.
Aim:-
Perform occult blood test in urine by Orthotoluidine method.
Requirement
Test tube, Orthotoluidine, glacial acetic acid, H2O2, urine pipette etc.
Procedure:-
1. Take 2 ml urine in a test tube.
2. Add a solution of 1 ml of Orthotoluidine in glacial acetic acid.
3. Add few drop of H2O2.
Interpretation:
Blue or green color indicates presence of blood in urine.
